Volcanic landscapes, demanding hiking, exceptionally dark skies and the Caldera de Taburiente. The strongest bookable experiences are guided Tajogaite hikes, stargazing and lava-tube visits.
Yes, but they are mostly compact black-sand beaches such as Los Cancajos, Puerto de Tazacorte and Puerto Naos. This is not an island of long pale resort beaches.
Allow roughly an hour or more for many east–west or coast-to-summit journeys. The island is small on the map but steep, with winding roads.
Most wildlife and coastal trips leave Puerto de Tazacorte on the west coast. Check the meeting point before booking if you stay near Santa Cruz.
The cone and exclusion-zone routes are offered through authorised guided visits. Public viewpoints show the landscape without entering restricted areas.
Usually yes for dispersed trailheads and viewpoints. It is less important if you book transfers and stay on a main bus corridor.
